Season One: The Life: Where We Stand

SEASON STRUCTURE: Six-episode digital series, 30 minutes per episode

APPROACH: Every episode follows two people where they actually live and work - filmed over multiple days, to broadcast standards, with patience to capture truth and intimacy.

CURRENT STATUS:The Life: Where We Stand” is currently in the development and research phase. Character research and exploratory conversations are underway. Funding and partnerships are in progress. Story elements, participants, and locations are subject to change as development continues.

PUBLICATION PLAN: Season One will debut as a six-episode digital series on YouTube, reaching viewers anywhere in the world with no subscription or paywall required. YouTube's combination of search discoverability, built-in audience development tools, and zero distribution cost makes it the most strategically sound platform for our first season.

In time, we will carefully pursue additional distribution partnerships including public libraries, community screening events, and LGBTQ centers.  Additional funding could support a traveling conversation series with companion projects for town halls, college campuses, and rural community centers.

WHY THIS MATTERS: Since January 2025, the federal government has issued more than a dozen executive orders targeting LGBTQ people, redefining orientation in narrow binary terms, prohibiting federal recognition of gender identity, and threatening to withdraw funding from schools and institutions that affirm LGBTQ lives. Workplace protections have been rescinded, reversing decades of civil rights precedent.

In this climate, the dominant media narrative about LGBTQ people has narrowed to conflict, litigation, and political debate. What gets lost in the political noise are the people standing in the middle of it - in a rural county, in a uniform, behind a pulpit, in front of a classroom - opting to still lead, care for, and teach. We tell their stories to build understanding and community - one episode at a time.
